A fun birthday party with crazy glasses and party-favors!
3Year Anniversary Of This Blog
Hard to believe, we’ve been doing the blog for 3years …the first post was August 1, 2008. (here)
A lot has happened, and it has gone sooo fast. Everyone warned us to take advantage and enjoy every minute. We have done a great job of doing just that! -But still it has gone way too fast, and continues to go way too fast. Our little girl is growing up so very quickly.
It is great fun for us to look back on the past years via this blog ….we hope family and friends enjoy it in the same way. Grace has had her picture taken more than a few times 🙂
Breakfast With Claire & A Daycare Birthday Party
This morning Grace and Dad had breakfast with Claire and her parents. We suggested Hash House A GoGo because it is always good fun. Claire is really great to Grace we think that Claire is role-model material for Grace. Hopefully these two will have more time together in the future. After breakfast Claire headed to her home in the SF bay area and Grace went to Daycare.
When dad went to pick Grace up at Daycare they were staging for teacher Katelyn’s birthday party!! So we stuck around for cupcakes and to sing Happy Birthday. Eventually we made our way home.
Gerlach with the White Family
…….Grace never misses an excuse to go to Gerlach. This time Claire (and her parents) were coming back through Reno -and we decided to meet out in Gerlach to play. It was great fun. On the way home we stopped at Pyramid Lake to round out the day. Thanks for all of the fun Claire -you truly are our favorite.
Once home, Grace immediately took a needed bath 🙂
Oh, and when Grace walked into Bruno’s with Claire and her mom, -they recognized her, picked her up and such. Grace is treated like a rock-star in Gerlach. Good fun.
Pictures from Claire and her family can be seen here
A Nice Sunday Outing -Nana/Papa, shopping, lunch …..
Grace went to Nana & Papa’s …..
And then it was off for some shopping with Nana, Brian, Mom and Dad …..followed by a nice lunch. It was a great Sunday outing.
An Evening with Uncle Brian
Uncle Brian came up to visit …..and tonight he and Grace spent the evening together. A full plate of fun and silliness. Good friends these two are.
Claire Passes Through Reno
Jerry White and his family were on their way to Montana for the GBU Rally. We all had a picnic and it was some great fun. Jerry first met Grace two years ago in Gerlach for the 2009 IBR. Grace was just at tiny baby back then.
It was great to see Jerry and his wife Sally. But the real thrill was getting to know Claire. Claire is 11years old and an awesome person -and we certainly hope that Grace and Claire get to spend time together in the future.
Thank you Claire -you really are the best and we hope we get to see more of you.
…and MORE trains -Portola RR Museum
Grace and Dad kept our train momentum going. Today a trip to Portola to their RR museum. Then to lunch in Quincy, and then back to the museum for yet one last train ride for the day. It was good fun.

Misc iPhone Videos
We stumbled across some random videos taken with Kathy’s iPhone. They are very honest and very funny. Amazing to see the changes. There likely are more iPhone videos floating around and we’ll get those posted as well ….and we’ll try to post these up on a more regular basis.

Trains, Trains and More Trains
This was a full day of trains. First Virginia City, then Carson City.
Grace has a strong fascination with trains. Very Strong! We don’t know why.
So Grace and Dad headed for Virginia City where we rode the small train. It was good touristy fun. Then to a very funky but fun lunch in Gold Hill …And then down the backside of the hill to Carson City and the Railroad Museum.
*Note the Virginia City pictures Grace is wearing the white hat, In Carson City The Pink Hat
There are some great pictures so be sure to check them out.
The video is very long (almost 20minutes) but those who know Grace will laugh at how instead of attacking the trains like a crazy two-year-old, -instead she studies the trains like a curious scientist. The funniest part to dad is during the touristy lecture during the 2nd train ride -Grace nods during the talk as if to validate the points being made by the tour guide. She is truly a wacky kid!

4th Of July
Everyone has been so busy and we’re behind on at least a few posts …..but today we headed up to Virginia City for the 4th of July parade. This is always a good time of old-skewl Nevada fun -and who doesn’t like a silly parade? Be sure to check out the pictures!
Black Rock Pizza
After a long day for everyone ….we decide to head to Black Rock Pizza for dinner. It was a great choice. And Grace ham’d it up as usual.
