Great Vacation ..Day1 Lake Tahoe

Grace, Winter and Dad headed up to Lake Tahoe. What a great day. Wonderful weather, hiking, lunch and taking in some nice sites. Winter is loving it and it’s her first night on vacation away from home. She’s behaving very well. Tonight is night 1 of 2. We’re at a dog friendly resort in the heart of State Line and just over a block from the lake. More pics later tonight and tomorrow.

Adventure: Grace + Winter The Puppy

Winter needs a lot of attention and stimulation. Uhhh, and so does Grace. Grace suggested a hike and so near our home they set out for some fun exploring and hiked/climbed for hours. Then on to many more adventures including lunch and a haircut. It was a great day.

Sunday day 8 with Winter

Grace again up way before the sun to take Winter for a chilly and long walk. Here are a few pics on the walk back from breakfast. About 3 miles total.
…and this evening a lot of snuggling on the couch.

Winter is doing great, this evening she walked to the back door to let us know it was potty time. Then outside to do her business. She’s doing awesome and reciprocating all the goodness we’re giving her.

Breaking News!!

7 Days after the new puppy becoming part of our family, and during a nice stormy-weather weekend.

Well, Grace finally made it official! Her new puppy finally has a permanent name: W I N T E R

Congratulations on finally having a name Winter! It’s a great name, and everyone agrees you look like a winter day in Northern Nevada. And we know you’re going to enjoy the first snow, which may come very soon!!

Also, Winter is really doing great. She’s batting near 100% on potty training (which has been our number one goal), she’s very sweet and seemingly smart. She LOVES to play, and she’s a fast runner. This morning we took her on her first long walk. Over 2miles!! she loved it and they’ll be many more big outdoor days in her future. Oh, and Grace says that winter has been ‘winking’ at her!! Kathy suggests winking back just in case it’s a secret code of some sort.

Dog

We haven’t shared much about the new addition to the family, maybe because we’ve been too busy with her! She’s doing great! Adjusting great to her new surroundings. Loves to play and run (and she’s fast) She also likes to explore (when given the opportunity) she also has proven she can cry for extended time-frames (we’re crate training until housebroken).

A few stats from her 2nd day in Nevada: 24Hours with no potty accidents inside!!! No less than 5 poops outside and many pee pee’s outside. Kathy gets much of the credit for giving her great attention during the day.

Here is a picture of her first Nevada bath …Grace is doing fantastic with her.

And a picture the next morning:
